  •

      • Temple Allen Industries

Business Development Analyst (looking for 2):

The Company:
Temple Allen Industries makes a suite of next-generation industrial tools that enable workers to perform surface preparation (sanding, grinding, and polishing) tasks four times faster while eliminating the health risks of traditional methods. The company currently focuses on serving our many commercial and military customers in the Aerospace industry.

The Role:
You are a self-directed and highly creative problem solver that is comfortable with business decision making, high-level quantitative and qualitative analytics, and technology.  From within the Sales and Marketing department, you will (with some oversight and support from the team) develop complete business cases for strategic accounts, find innovative solutions to various challenges, perform cost/benefit analyses for new business ventures, baseline new client operations/processes, and communicate with client personnel from the operations level to the upper management of Fortune 50 companies.

TAI is fast-paced and rapidly growing company-- your responsibilities will be extremely diverse and continuously evolving within this entrepreneurial environment.  We project a startup mentality and philosophy by striving for you to own your projects from day one and start your career here as an integral part of the business.  Since TAI is a small company, you will be working closely with everyone in the company, from the engineers to the senior founders, generating innovative solutions to extraordinary challenges.

The position is performance-based, often entailing long work hours. Interest in and knowledge about the aerospace industry is a plus, but not required.  Candidates must be non-smokers and expect to be constantly challenged.

Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic record.
• Demonstrated strong performance in previous experiences (internships, school projects), with increasing levels of responsibility and independence.
• Outstanding problem solving, analysis, and organizational skills.
• Substantial competence in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Mechanical Engineer (looking for 2):

The Company:
Temple Allen Industries makes a suite of next-generation industrial tools that enable workers to perform surface preparation (sanding, grinding, and polishing) tasks four times faster while eliminating the health risks of traditional methods. The company currently focuses on serving our many commercial and military customers in the Aerospace industry.

Because our EMMA™ manipulators utilize a unique mechanical structure not covered in any academic engineering curriculum, all engineering staff at Temple Allen advance thru a rigorous training program to arrive at the position that best fits their talents, drive, and expertise. Most personnel are expected to continue advancing thru hands-on EMMA™ manufacturing and assembly positions to customer-centric application engineering positions where they take charge of individual contract relationships to more senior design engineering positions where they would eventually have full product responsibility.

At a more established firm - this growth would define a 35-year career and result in a fairly narrow expertise. At Temple Allen Industries, this process resembles post-medical school residencies, and serves to develop a wide-ranging competency in manufacturing, customer interface, product development, and mechanical design, and takes less than 5 years.

Notes:
1] All positions are for non-smokers only
2] These are NOT Electrical Engineering or IT positions: our products are 100% pneumatic.
3] Candidates must be eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance (US Citizenship required).
4] Candidates must submit a cover letter with their resume to be considered.

Candidate Requirements:

Starting salary commensurate with skills and experience, with 6-month salary review

Please submit a resume and cover letter to engineerjob@templeallen.com

Marketing/Sales Strategy Intern (accepting applications for summer 2012):

Temple Allen Industries (www.templeallen.com) makes ergonomic sanding, grinding, and polishing tools that enable workers to perform surface preparation tasks four times faster while eliminating the health risks of traditional methods. The company currently focuses on serving our many commercial and military customers in the Aerospace industry.

Business is picking up, and we want someone smart, flexible, and very organized to smooth out the daily chaos, pay attention to the details, and keep the corporate leadership focused on the big stuff. Part of the job will be secretarial - maintaining calendar, helping update customer and marketing data, greeting visitors, taking notes, making appointments, etc.

The other part of the job is why we believe a rising senior/junior, particularly one thinking about business school, will be interested - as it will be a crash course in all things "start-up". Simply described as "whatever the boss needs done" this may entail research, sales calls, cost-benefit analysis of strategy options, website development, memo writing, project oversight, etc.

Requirements: Excellent people, phone, and written communication skills. Tech-savvy and hyper-organized, while flexible and good at multi-tasking. Skills in Word, Excel (especially), and PowerPoint are required. Final Cut or Dreamweaver experience a plus, but not a requirement.

Compensation - $1,250/month

Based on our needs and availability, we will also consider extending the internship period into a part-time position during the academic year for those who are interested.
